ACA-Europe – Association of the Councils of State and Supreme Administrative Jurisdictions of the European Union

Aims and Methods

ACA-Europe aims to promote the sharing of opinions and experience between its members. The association focuses on the jurisdiction, work and methods of the courts, as well as on European law. ACA-Europe holds seminars and conducts studies for this purpose. Judges have the opportunity to complete a two-week guest residency at another European court. Besides a web-based exchange forum, it also maintains JuriFast, a publicly accessible database containing rulings by its members. The working languages are English and French.

The members of ACA-Europe are the supreme administrative courts in all member states of the European Union, Norway and Switzerland, as well as the Court of Justice of the European Union. Montenegro, Serbia and Turkey have observer status.

The Presidency of ACA-Europe alternates between the members of ACA-Europe every two years. Since 15 May 2018, Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Klaus Rennert, President of the Federal Administrative Court, is also President of ACA-Europe. Six seminars are planned during the German Presidency 2018-2020 , four of which will take place in Germany.
